Long-standing Manchester United target Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has admitted that he would never say never to a move to Old Trafford.

Huntelaar has been connected to United on a number of occasions over the past few years, and asked by German website, the Dutchman admitted: "It was only an issue for the press.

"I have never heard anything directly from United anyway. What happens in the future, you can never say never, but it was always clear to me that I'll be playing for Schalke this season."

The Schalke star has expressed his admiration for Manchester United on many occasions, and after scoring 8 goals in 24 appearances for the German side, Huntelaar will no doubt continue to be monitored by United scouts.

Ferguson has reportedly been chasing Huntelaar for the last three years, and the United manager is still considering making a move for the 27-year-old in the final month of the transfer window, particularly if Dimitar Berbatov decides to leave Old Trafford after all.
