Celtic are set to lose a prized asset in the form of striker Islam Feruz to Barclays Premier League side Chelsea, according to The Scotsman.

The Somali-born forward was set to sign a professional contract this September, upon the player turning 16.

However Chelsea have reportedly swooped for the Celtic man, despite the club refusing to comment on the deal.

"Until an official press release is made by Chelsea FC, we cannot make any comments regarding signing speculations," a Celtic statement said.

Apart from Oriol Romeu, Chelsea have yet to make a move in the transfer market, while Celtic are still looking to add despite topping the SPL table after winning their first two matches.
