Belgian starlet Romelu Lukaku trained with the Chelsea first team today, despite a delay in the teenager signing at Stamford Bridge.

Lukaku was thought to be on the verge of an £18 million move from Anderlecht at the start of the week, but the player himself confirmed that there is a delay in completing the move to Stamford Bridge.

"Please note that no official presentation and no press conference will take place in Chelsea this week," he said a statement on his official website.

"More news will be given on the site in the coming days."

The 18-year-old traveled to London on Monday to undergo a medical with last season's Barclays Premier League runners-up, and whilst the final steps have to be taken before the move is completed, a Chelsea deal is still thought to be imminent.

Lukaku returned to England after the international break to take part in a session with the Chelsea senior squad today, according to West London Sport, with Andre Villas-Boas and the coaching staff getting their closest look at the player.

Anticipation is high over the youngster's possible impact at Chelsea, and the Blues will want to get all the paperwork sorted as soon as possible.
