Tottenham are targeting Willian, with the club hoping to steal the march on cross-town rivals Arsenal to sign the Brazillian star, according to the Daily Mail.

Luka Modric, Tottenham's star playmaker, has had a long running transfer saga with Chelsea, and Modric admitted today he is still unsure over where his future lies.

“I don't want to talk about that, I said before what I think and that's it,” Modric said.

“I said a lot of things before and still everything is the same at the moment. I will see - I'm still waiting.”

Tottenham have continually insisted that Modric won’t be leaving the club, with Harry Redknapp going so far as to say the playmaker could hand in a transfer request if he liked and it still wouldn’t make a difference.

But with the transfer window coming to an end, Tottenham are no doubt considering their options if Chelsea make an offer that is impossible to refuse.

Willian currently plays for Shakhtar Donetsk, and signed for the club from Corinthians in 2007 for $19 million. Arsenal have targeted the 23-year-old, who scored two goals against Roma in the Champions League knockout round.

But Tottenham are hoping to beat Arsenal to sign Willian before the window closes, and are considering bidding £15 million for the star.
