Defender Simon Ford remains the only doubt for Chesterfield ahead of their first home game of the season against fellow League One newcomers Stevenage.

The centre-half missed the midweek Carling Cup tie at Rochdale with a knock he sustained against Tranmere on the opening day of the campaign.

Mark Randall was only on the bench on Tuesday night due to a training injury but the midfielder is expected to be fit to start against Boro.

Like during last season`s title-winning campaign, crowd favourite Jack Lester is likely to return to the starting line-up at the B2net Stadium after the veteran striker was rested on the road at Rochdale.

Manager John Sheridan remains hopeful of adding to his squad ahead of the game after he was let down by two players who had agreed to sign last week.

Stevenage have no new problems.

Midfielder Rob Sinclair (groin) and goalkeeper Chris Day (finger) missed the opening-day draw with Exeter and the thrilling Carling Cup clash against Peterborough and will remain on the sidelines.

Summer signings Guy Madjo and Jennison Myrie-Williams will hope to make their debuts after being included in the squad for the first time this season against Posh on Tuesday night.

Boss Graham Westley has options should he wish to make changes but most are attack-minded, with Craig Reid, Ben May, Peter Winn and Chris Beardsley all available to come into the side.
