Burton will have on-loan defender Tom Parkes available for the visit of Shrewsbury.
The Leicester centre-half was sent off on the opening day of the season at Torquay and served a one-match suspension as Albion took Championship club Burnley to extra time in the Carling Cup in midweek.
Tony James replaced Parkes on Tuesday night and Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido must decide which player to call upon to face the Shrews.
Peschisolido has options should he feel the need to freshen things up following 120 minutes of football at Turf Moor.
Defenders Danny Blanchett and Ryan Austin, midfielder Jimmy Phillips and strikers Greg Pearson and Adi Yussuf are ready to make their first starts of the season.
Shrewsbury will be without defender Joe Jacobson once again.
Left-back Jacobson, who joined the Shrews from Accrington in the summer, serves the final game of a three-match suspension which was carried over from his dismissal in Stanley`s play-off semi-final second-leg defeat to Stevenage in May.
Striker Tom Bradshaw also remains on the sidelines after damaging cruciate knee ligaments in pre-season and is not likely to feature until September.
Marvin Morgan overcame a knock to score twice in the thrilling 3-2 Carling Cup victory at Derby on Tuesday, while James Collins was also on the scoresheet and both are likely to keep their places up front with new signing Terry Gornell on the bench.
