Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City could be about to complete a winger switch, according to the Metro.

The man-for-man deal would see Aaron Lennon head over to the Etihad Staium in exchange for Adam Johnson plus cash.

The clubs are already in discussion over striker Emmanuel Adebayor, but have become sidetracked by a mutually beneficial swap.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is apparently keen to secure a speedy option, and Aaron Lennon is a possibility.

Meanwhile, Adam Johnson is looking for consistent first team action, which is becoming increasingly difficult on the multi-talented Citizens bench.

Johnson is also looking to bolster his international career, and a move to the Tottenham Hotspur is seen as a step in the right direction to secure regular starts in order to impress Fabio Capello.

The swap could leave Spurs around £10 million better off and would secure them one of England’s most promising attacking players.
