Football Manager 2022 will be released on 9th November 2021.

Football Manager 2022 is on the way and there is a lot to look forward to with a new season on the horizon.

Now that the 2020/21 campaign has drawn to a close, all eyes will be focused on Euro 2020 for some potential transfer targets, bargains and wonderkids as the market is set to become extremely active once the market comes to a close.

Not only does this relate to events going on in real life – but also for Football Manager players. Every year, the gaming community are anxious to know what is the best, and cheapest way to climb to the top of the footballing pyramid.

Release Date

Sports Interactive have confirmed that their all-new title will be released on Tuesday 9th November 2021.


FM22 Touch

Football Manager 2022 Touch will only be available for Nintendo Switch

Titled Football Manager 2022 Touch, the mobile version has been pencilled in to be released around the same time as the PC and Xbox versions.

But now the plans have been changed on the fly and will now only be released for Nintendo Switch – and not for Android or iOS.

This is due to the COVID-19 pandemic last year which hindered their plans of launching on more than one handheld platform. So those players that play on Apple or Google devices – are set to be disappointed.

New Features

Miles Jacobson, who is the chief of Sports Interactive and the Director and Executive Producer of Football Manager, revealed an abundance of new features on Twitter.

Football Manager 2022 New Features

The new features are:

  • When receiving an award, your board may decide to publicly comment on it to add further context surrounding your achievement.
  • You’ll now be able to track any assurances made to another manager via the promises tab, so you can avoid awkward conversations later in the season
  • You can now discuss perceived referee bias in press conferences- this could get you a touchline ban
  • New animation cut scenes for intra squad friendlies with the players warming up more casually and getting advice as a group
  • A manager will now no longer be appointed on a matchday for their new club… because it’s just strange when it happens dealing with non-match day things on match day.

Football Manager 2022 Beta

FM22 will be released on 9th November 2021.

Details have already been published regarding how players can gain access to the Early Access Beta earlier – and it couldn’t be simpler!

  • You must have pre-ordered FM22;
  • The FM22 beta is ONLY available for PC

It will be arriving on Tuesday 26th October 2021 so make sure you reserve your copy in order to jump right in earlier than everyone else.

Is Football Manager 2022 coming to PS5/PS4?

Unfortunately for PlayStation players, Football Manager 2022 will not be released for any form of Sony platform. 

Studio director Miles Jacobson provided a brief explanation last year before the release of FM21 having admitted that he had approached Sony regarding producing games from their systems – but to no avail.

Is Football Manager 2022 Coming To Nintendo Switch?

The great news is that, yes, FM22 will be available for the Nintendo Switch this year. The game will be the Touch version rather than the standard PC edition and will only be brought out for this handheld device.

As mentioned above, FM22 Touch will not hit Android or iOS devices.
