Chelsea signing Romelu Lukaku has been ‘earmarked’ for a loan deal with Stoke in January, according to Metro.
Lukaku was unveiled with Oriol Romeu as the Blues latest signings yesterday, but an overload of strikers means the 18-year-old may need to head to another club to get experience in English football.
Chelsea already have established strikers Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka vying for a starting position, and while Lukaku has been touted as the next Drogba, the youngster is only 18-years-old and with no Barclays Premier League experience.
Andre Villas-Boas is said to have spoken to Stoke manager Tony Pulis over a possible loan deal for Lukaku, with the Chelsea manager hoping that the wonderkid will develop along the same lines as Daniel Sturridge.
Benfica are reportedly also taking the Chelsea signing on loan, but Villas-Boas wants Lukaku to get experience in England.
