Arsenal's ranks of senior midfielders could become even more threadbare as Wolfsburg reportedly consider a move for Tomas Rosicky.
According to talkSPORT, the Czech Republic international has been identified by Felix Magath as a player with the potential to bring extra creativity to the Wolfsburg midfield.
The loss of another midfielder will certainly not be something Arsene Wenger is contemplating right now, after Arsenal sold Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri and loaned Denilson to Sau Paulo.
And, with Jack Wilshere still sidelined, the experience of Rosicky could prove to be even more important in a relatively novice Arsenal midfield.
Wenger, though, is expected to invest in that area before the close of the transfer window, and is in a stronger position now after Arsenal booked their place in the group stage of the Champions League.
Goals from Robin Van Persie and Theo Walcott made sure Arsenal progressed against Udinese on Wednesday, while Wojciech Szczesny rightfully took the plaudits after a fine penalty save.
