Swindon have agreed a deal to sign Arsenal defender Daniel Boateng on loan.

The 18-year-old signed a three-year professional contract with the Gunners at the start of this season but is looking to gain some first-team experience with a temporary switch to Paolo Di Canio's side.

"We are very lucky that Arsenal have given us permission to have one of their lads," Robins chairman Jeremy Wray told BBC Wiltshire.

"They recognised this is a place where he will come into a side and continue his progression."

The deal is expected to be completed next week.
