Bristol Rovers have avoided a potential injury crisis for the game with Hereford.

Pirates boss Paul Buckle was without striker Joe Anyinsah for the Carling Cup victory with Watford and he lost Cian Bolger, Matt Harrold and Chris Zebroski to injuries during that game.

But only Bolger is definitely out for the visit of the Bulls with an ankle problem.

Rovers would have had a striking dilemma had Anyinsah (hamstring), Harrold (groin) and Zebroski (knee) been ruled out but all three are back in training and hope to be included.

Buckle continues to be without Stuart Campbell and Gary Sawyer. Campbell, currently the longest serving member of Rovers' squad, has a hamstring injury and Sawyer is recuperating from a hernia operation.

Will Evans and Thomas Barkuizen are in contention to make their Hereford debuts.

Centre-back Evans completed a three-month loan move from Swindon on Thursday while striker Barkuizen arrived on the same day from Blackpool in a deal until January 3.

Evans` addition to the Bulls ranks comes with defenders Stefan Stam and Benoit Dalibard facing between two to four weeks out with hamstring injuries.

Both missed Tuesday`s valiant 2-0 Carling Cup defeat away to Aston Villa, although full-back Joe Heath (ribs) did make his return and should be involved once again.

Versatile loanee Simon Clist was cup-tied at Villa Park but comes back into contention this weekend, while midfielder Rob Purdie (thigh) faces another fitness test.

Goalkeeper Adam Bartlett continues to miss out with his thigh problem, meaning impressive on-loan Swansea stopper David Cornell will look to continue his fine work between the sticks.
