Dzeko dreaming of Golden Boot

In-form Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko says winning the Golden Boot this season would be a dream come true, although it isn't on his mind just yet.

The Bosnian international netted four times as City routed Tottenham on Sunday, to add to the goals he scored against Swansea and Bolton.

And, when taking into account his strike in the Community Shield, Dzeko already has as many goals in four appearances this season then he had previously scored for City in the last campaign.

It has certainly been quite a turnaround for the 25-year-old, who saw the £27 million paid to sign him from Wolfsburg in January called into question after a relatively poor return last term.

But Dzeko has now gone some way to answering his critics, and has thanked manager Roberto Mancini for keeping the faith.

"I am happy that he kept faith with me because I think that's the most important thing in football - that the coach and the players around you believe in you," said Dzeko.

"The beginning was hard for me, but I wanted to have a full pre-season with the team. Now I have had that and I know the league better. I feel much stronger than last season.

"Thinking about the Golden Boot is too far ahead. I don't think about that. I think every striker's dream is that but it's not the priority for me."
