Wesley Sneijder’s agent has denied reports that the playmaker is having a medical at Old Trafford, but has been vague when asked if Sneijder is staying at Inter Milan this season.

"It is absolutely not true," Soren Lerby told TMW of the rumours. But when asked if Sneijder is planning on staying at Inter Milan next season, Lerby replied: "Again, the news I was referring to is not true."

Sneijder has been enduring a long-standing transfer saga with Manchester United, with the issue looking to come to a climax today as United attempt to shore up a deal with the star.

Sneijder’s £35 million transfer fee, along with a monthly wage of over £1 million, is said to be a stumbling block in a possible deal with United, but should the club be able to work out a way to get around the wage jump, such as through third party sponsorship, a deal could still be possible.

Sir Alex Ferguson and David Gill have both insisted that Manchester United are not chasing Sneijder, but the rumours of a move just won’t die, and after Sneijder admitted yesterday that a deal could be done within eight hours, the next 10 hours could be very interesting for United fans.
