Blues' De Bruyne deal not dead

Kevin de Bruyne appears back on the Chelsea radar despite the Blues missing out on the player in the transfer window.

Racing Genk rejected the possibility of a £6 million move to Stamford Bridge in the closing stages of August, and it was a move which has left the 20-year-old frustrated after watching compatriot Romelu Lukaku make the England move.

"I'm disappointed in the attitude of Genk," he told Het Nieuwsblad.

"I do not want any controversy, but I'm disappointed in the attitude of Genk. Chelsea was a very nice offer, the club wanted me to stay for one year in Genk.

"I hope it still goes on, because this is a dream for me. I wanted to give everything for one year in Genk and with a good feeling to say goodbye to the club and the supporters."

The Belgian starlet's wish may come true sooner rather than later though, with the Daily Mail reporting that Genk are ready to re-open talks over the player in a fortnight.

Andre Villas-Boas will be pleased with the news, after investing heavily on younger players this summer with the likes of Lukaku, Thibaut Courtois and Juan Mata.
