Sources in Norway have confirmed that Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Norwegian international striker Mohammed Abdellaoue reports insidefutbol.com.
The 25-year-old currently plies his trade in the German Bundesliga for Hannover 96, and has attracted the attention of a number of clubs around Europe after a series of impressive performances last season.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger made an uncharacteristic foray into the transfer market, with the addition of no less than five new signings arriving at the Emirates Stadium on deadline day.
But Wenger is determined that when the transfer window reopens, Arsenal's activity will be much more carefully planned, as he looks to line up proposed targets well in advance.
After netting ten league goals for Hannover last season, and with three to his name already this campaign, Abdellaoue has put himself in contention for a January switch to north London, as Arsenal look to continue their rebuilding process.
It is understood that the Gunners will need to come up with at least €5million in order to persuade Hannover to part with a player they signed for €1.4million from Valerenga just over a year ago.
