Burnley striker Danny Ings has revealed his knee operation was a success but he has not set a date for a return to action.
Ings underwent surgery after tearing cartilage in his knee just days after signing for the Clarets from Bournemouth in a deal that could ultimately be worth £1million. However, the 19-year-old forward is happy with how the operation went and is remaining upbeat as he begins his rehabilitation.
Ings said: "The operation was a success, they managed to fix most of the cartilage that was in the knee so that's a positive for me in the long term."
He added: "I'm in every day at 8.30am doing gym session every day, which is tough.
"But I've been working on my upper body, which the gaffer knows I need to work on anyway.
"Hopefully I've got this one out of the way and I'll be injury free for the rest of my contract here now."
