Ramsey hoping for Gunners reversal

Arsenal’s loss to Manchester United is still fresh in Aaron Ramsey’s mind, and the midfielder is aiming to take the club to a win this weekend to at least begin to make up for the Gunners' horror start to the season.

With no wins on the board, and a draw and two losses, Arsenal are just above the relegation zone at the moment, with a goal difference of negative eight.

And, while it is still early days in the season, the Gunners need to get their campaign back on track if they hope to compete with the title leaders for trophies.

But Ramsey is sure that this weekend when Arsenal face Swansea, with five new faces on side after a mad deadline day for Arsene Wenger, the Gunners will be able to get back into contention for the top four.

“We went to put things right after our last result. Hopefully we put in a really good performance and get back to winning ways,” he said.

“We have had a good think about things and it will be a fresh start now. We have brought in some quality players, [Mikel] Arteta and [Yossi] Benayoun are two creative midfielders who are really comfortable on the ball and they will be great additions to the squad.”

Ramsey is being very careful not to underestimate Swansea, who will be looking to notch up their first win in the top-tier.

The Wales international added: “I saw last season, when I played against Swansea for Cardiff, that they are a good footballing team and like to pass the ball. It will be a good footballing game but hopefully we come out on top and get all three points.”

Despite having to come back from their humiliating defeat last weekend, Arsenal fans will no doubt be excited to see how Per Mertesacker, Park Chu-Young, Mikel Arteta, Yossi Benayoun and Andre Santos fit into the current squad.
