City's super Swede will develop on loan

Manchester City striker John Guidetti has spoken of his joy and excitement at joining Eredivisie outfit Feyenoord on a season-long loan reports talkSPORT.

The 19-year-old starlet has been handed an opportunity to continue his development with the chance of regular first-team football in Holland.

Guidetti joined Manchester City in 2008, and has won a number of admirers after impressing in his three years at the club's academy.

The Sweden U21 international made his Citizens debut last September in a 2-1 Carling Cup defeat against West Brom, but since then has struggled to establish himself in Roberto Mancini's starting line-up, such is the quality of the star-studded squad at the Etihad Stadium.


Guidetti's ultimate ambition remains being able to prove himself at Manchester City, but reflecting on the latest challenge in his career, he spoke with confidence and optimism for the year ahead.

"I am excited to be playing at this club," he confirmed. "Feyenoord is a club that is known throughout the world, with great fans and a well-known manager.

"Feyenoord has great success in the past. I hope this season to contribute to a great sporting year.

"I thought it was a fantastic stadium right when I walked in. The fans were great and I cannot wait until I can play."
