Carlo Vela has revealed that while Cesc Fabregas is happy at Barcelona, the playmaker found it difficult saying goodbye to the club where he spent a third of his life.

Fabregas finally sealed a move to the Catalan side towards the end of the transfer window for a reported £35 million fee, and has already won two trophies with his new club.

And Vela, who played with Fabregas at the Emirates, said that the former Arsenal skipper still thinks a lot about his old club and wants the Gunners to do well in the Barclays Premier League this season.

"We speak very often," Vela said. "We made good friends at Arsenal and keep in touch. He is very happy at Barcelona.

"He is about to have a new experience and a great time in his life and career and hopefully all will go well because he is a

great professional and a great person.

"But he had a hard time leaving because Arsenal treated him very well and he was much loved."
