Arsenal and Manchester City target Jan Vertonghen has ruled out a move away from Ajax in the winter, with the defender insisting that he’s happy in Holland.

Vertonghen has been particularly impressive for Ajax since moving up from the club’s youth ranks in 2006. The 24-year-old has attracted attention from numerous clubs as a result.

Manchester City and Arsenal have both made their interest in the star clear, according to, but Vertonghen insists he isn’t going anywhere for the rest of the season at least.

"I have really had enough of all the questions about whether I'm leaving Ajax. Nobody has to ask me whether I'm on the move in January, because I will not leave the club this season," he said.

Arsenal were said to be interested in taking on Vertonghen to bolster their defense, while City had hoped that the Belgian would be a good back up for Mich Richards, Vincent Company and Jolen Lescott.

But while he’s insisted he’s not leaving Ajax, if Arsenal or Manchester City are able to progress further than the side in the Champions League stages, Vertongham’s head may be turned by a move to England after all.
