Hull matchwinner Aaron Mclean could not have wished for more after scoring the only goal in the weekend win at former club Peterborough.

Mclean, who joined Hull from Peterborough in a £1million deal in December 2010 after spending four years at London Road, fired his first goal of the season as the Tigers secured a second successive win.

Mclean told the club's official website: "I didn't quite write a script, but before the game I did think that if we could win and I could score I would be over the moon."

He added: "The fact that it turned out that way was brilliant. We had to work really hard for the win because of the way Peterborough play, but we started the second half really well and got the goal.

"We've had back-to-back wins now after a good victory at home and then going to Peterborough and getting the three points.

"We have to make sure we go into the next game with the same confidence now."
