Yann Kermorgant, recently departed from Leicester City, has joined Charlton Athletic on a two-year deal.

The 29-year-old forward had the final year of his contract with the Foxes canceled after spending last season on loan in his native France with AC Arles-Avignon, but has now been snapped up by Addicks boss Chris Powell.

Speaking on the official Charlton website, the 29-year-old discussed the reasons behind the move, citing a good relationship with the manager, and his future at The Valley.

“I had an excellent relationship with Chris Powell," said Kermorgant, who worked with Powell during their time together at the Walkers Stadium.

“Once I met Chris, and discussed his style of play and his ambitions for the club, I felt that Charlton is going to be an exciting place to be over the next few years, and I want to be a part of it.”

Kermorgant becomes Powell’s 19th signing since the end of last season,.
