Team news

Peter Crouch and Cameron Jerome are likely to play upfront for Stoke, while Wilson Palacios also looks set to play. Thomas Sorensen will deputise for the rested Asmir Begovic.

Matthew Upson will be assessed prior to kick-off, while Matthew Etherington, Rory Delap and Marc Wilson are injured.

Pulis wary of Dynamo threat

Tony Pulis will afford Dynamo Kiev the utmost respect as his Stoke City side continue their European adventure.

The Potters have already seen off Hadjuk Split and FC Thun to progress to the group stage of the Europa League, but will face their sternest examination yet in Kiev on Wednesday evening.

Kiev are veterans of 288 appearances in continental ranks, and have among their number former Ballon D'Or winner Andriy Shevchenko.

And Pulis is full of admiration for the Ukrainian giants - just as he is for fellow Group E opponents Maccabi Tel Aviv and Besiktas.

"I've got the greatest respect for all three teams we are playing," said Pulis. "I know Kiev have played many games in Europe and have more experience than most teams we are going to play - they are a very famous club.

"We watched video of the Man City games from last year, so we know it will be tough.

"Shevchenko is a great player with fantastic pedigree. He has played in England and knows what English football is all about, so of course, whether he starts or comes on as a substitute, we will give him respect."
