Former Arsenal defender Kenny Sansom believes his former side will struggle to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League.

Three defeats already this season, including Saturday's loss to Blackburn Rovers, has seen the pressure grow on manager Arsene Wenger and fears grow that the club will fail to qualify for Europe's premier club competition for next season.

However, according to Sansom, after just one win in five league games, finishing in the top for will be a tough ask for Arsenal.

“It’s going to be very, very difficult for Arsenal," he said.

"It’s going to be tough to finish fourth. I watched Tottenham on Sunday and they were absolutely fantastic.

"The understanding they had was marvellous. Ledley King was back so they were defensively sound and they were very, very powerful.

"Liverpool didn’t play well against Tottenham, but they’re a very good side as well.

"It’s going to be a tough, tough season for Arsenal."
