Bologna have conceded that Gaston Ramirez could be Liverpool bound when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Uruguayan has placed himself firmly in the shop window after a number of fine displays in Serie A for his currently employers since joining from Penarol a year ago.

And, with Liverpool reported to be pursuing the 20-year-old winger, Bologna have claimed there is indeed a chance Ramirez could move to Anfield.

"We’ll see about Ramirez joining Liverpool", said Rossoblu vice-president Maurizio Setti.

"There’s certainly a real chance [of it].

"Even if, at the moment, the Reds haven’t called us."

Liverpool are expected to make further reinforcements in January as Kenny Dalglish continues to build a squad capable of challenging for honours both domestically and on the continent.

The Liverpool boss added seven players of some repute to his ranks during the summer as the Reds target a return to European competition.
