Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera wants to concentrate on regaining full fitness and is refusing to discuss a move to the Premier League.

The 22-year-old isn't expected to play against until November after surgery, after a summer in which he featured for Spain in their Under-21 European Championships victory.

However, when questioned about possible interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Herrera wasn't keen to discuss the matter.

"I don't know anything about it. Only rumours in the newspapers," he said.

"Right now my concern is recovering well and helping Athletico in what could be a difficult season."

A source at Bilbao added: "We know nothing about there interest and no-one at the club wants him to leave."

Bilbao only signed the Tottenham target in the summer, but his limited appearances for his new side have left many to believe where he has a future with the La Liga side.

Tottenham were known to be scouting a number of players at the European Championships, including Xherdan Shaqiri.
