Doyley extends stay with Hornets

Lloyd Doyley has received glowing praise from manager Sean Dyche having penned a contract extension at Watford until 2013.

The homegrown defender, 28, was due to see his deal expire at the end of this season but has agreed to extend his stay by a further year. Doyley is close to 350 appearances for the Hornets since making his debut in 2001.

Dyche has told the club's official website: "Lloyd stands for what this club is all about. He's fantastically honest and there's no-one more deserving to be at Watford."

He added: "Lloyd is far more talented than he's given credit for.

"In fact he's a vital cog in turning the wheels of the football side of the club.

"I hope he has a great testimonial year and continues to serve the club as he has for a long time."
