Ipswich have completed the loan signing of Reece Wabara from Manchester City.

The 19-year-old made his City debut as a substitute in last season's 2-0 win at Bolton, and has been loaned out to gain more first-team experience.

Wabara has also made five appearances for the England Under-20s, with Eastlands coach David Platt earmarking him as a future star.

Manager Paul Jewell has handed the full-back, who will be included in the squad for Saturday's match against Brighton, the number 26 shirt.

"We're pleased to have Reece here," Jewell told the club's official website.

"He's quick and strong.

"Although he can play in the middle of defence, I see him as a right-back here and someone who can give competition to Carlos Edwards."
