Angel Rangel has hailed Swansea's defensive resilience after the south Wales club withstood a barrage from Stoke City to earn three points at the Liberty Stadium.

The Swans have recored another clean sheet on Sunday - their fourth at home in the league this season in as many outings - while Scott Sinclair an Danny Graham netted at the other end.

Brendan Rodger's side now occupy tenth spot in the Barclays Premier League, having taken eight points from their opening seven fixtures.

This haul is, in the most part, down to a resolute backline, and Rangel is pleased to have played his part, while he hopes the unblemished record can continue.

"It is another clean sheet, which is great, and we were fantastic offensively," said the 28-year-old right-back.

"Everyone played their part in a very physical game and we deserved to win.

"We have been training all week trying to find a way to deal with Peter Crouch and co. We did very well.

"We haven't conceded a goal here yet in the league. We haven't conceded from a set-piece at all yet this season, so it shows that we have been working hard on that.

"The Liberty has to be a fortress for us and so far we are doing that."
