Robinson not content with second

Milton Keynes Dons manager Karl Robinson is disappointed with his side's current position in the Npower League One table, despite sitting second having lost just once in the league this season.

The Dons earned their first win in five games against Notts County at the weekend, to leave them five points behind leaders Charlton Athletic.

Instead of resting on his laurels and reflecting on a decent start to the season, Robinson is left rueing the club's draws with Bury and The Addicks in the last week.

"I'm very disappointed, we should have had two extra points against Bury and two extra against Charlton," Robinson said.

"Put those four points on it and it's a different league table, because then we are competing with Charlton."

"You'd have to reduce the points for Charlton because they shouldn't have got a draw Tuesday night."

"I thought we were magnificent Tuesday, excellent at Bury, and just as good against Notts County."

Along with the win over County, emergency loan signing Clinton Morrison netted his first goal since his move from Sheffield Wednesday, and Robinson says he's already keen to keep hold of the former Birmingham City hitman.

"Clinton deserved his goal with the way he plays and the way he moves the ball - his hold-up play is brilliant," he added.

"He's a great fella, I really like him. People said that I would have problems with him - I've had arguments with him, I tell him what I think and respect him and I'll always be there for him 100%.

"But if he keeps putting in performances like that he's going to keep the crowd, me and the rest of the players very happy.

"I would love to keep him but you've got to respect the fact that he's come from a massive club and been at the highest level, so you can imagine the difficulties of getting him to come and play for the likes of us.

"We're punching well above our weight and we're second in the league."
