This week's episode of WWE SmackDown emanated from the world-famous Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The 'Super-SmackDown' show featured a number of big moments, including the return of the Demon King persona of Finn Balor and Edge taking on Seth Rollins.

The show of course took place a day before the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks in New York, and SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee would reference that horrific moment in the city's history during a promo cut in front of the live crowd in attendance.

The former NFL kicker passionately thanked the fans for coming out to the show in Madison Square Garden, as well as stating that the perpetrators of the 9/11 terror attacks were "a**holes."

Posting the promo on Twitter, McAfee would write:

20 years ago some assholes wanted to take away our joy, our happiness, & our freedom.. They had NO IDEA 20 years later we would be back in the MOST iconic arena on Earth for an INCREDIBLE #SMACKDOWN #SmackDAHN

McAfee has been one of the shining lights of WWE ever since he made his way to the SmackDown commentary table back during the WWE ThunderDome era.

The former NFL player has also proven himself to be a major asset in-ring for the company, with an unbelievable match against Adam Cole back in NXT showing he can 'go' if needed. Whether WWE decides to use him in this capacity again remains to be seen.

In the second episode of the revamped Turnbuckle Talk podcast, Louis Dangoor and special guest Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful talk about the biggest news in professional wrestling, including Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole's AEW debuts, the health of Triple H, Kevin Owens potentially leaving WWE and more.
