WWE SmackDown Superstar Finn Balor has often discussed how he would like to see the company work with more outside promotions.

The first-ever WWE Universal Champion has previously worked for the likes of New Japan Pro Wrestling, and he has now gone on record as saying he loves the Forbidden Door concept that has been a major part of the pro wrestling scene over the past year.

Several promotions in the United States and Japan have been working in tandem during the pandemic 'era' and Balor stated he would love to represent WWE across the globe in other promotions.

Speaking to Cultaholic, Balor discussed the overall concept of the Forbidden Door and how it has opened up the possibilities for pro wrestling promotions working together.

"I love the idea of the Forbidden Door. I feel if I have the opportunity to wrestle in Japan or Mexico or Europe, for whatever promotion, I'd love the opportunity to be able to do it. Obviously, contractually with WWE, they take care of all my dates and bookings and travel and organize everything. If somehow we could set up a relationship with WWE and these other brands touring around the world, I would love to challenge myself from different performers from different regions."

WWE already have content on both WWE Network and Peacock from other promotions, including ICW, PROGRESS, wXw and EVOLVE. It is not confirmed at this point if working more with outside brands is something that WWE is considering.

In the second episode of the revamped Turnbuckle Talk podcast, Louis Dangoor and special guest Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful talk about the biggest news in professional wrestling, including Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole's AEW debuts, the health of Triple H, Kevin Owens potentially leaving WWE and more.
