Cristiano Ronaldo made his second debut for Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.

The Portuguese superstar was handed a starting berth by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the team's Premier League fixture versus Newcastle United.

And in typical Ronaldo fashion, the 36-year-old found the back of the net to put the Red Devils 1-0 up just before half-time.

The former Real Madrid and Juventus man capitalised on an error by Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman and tapped in from close-range.

Ronaldo's first goal back in front of the Old Trafford crowd will have repaid the faith shown in him by Fantasy Premier League managers around the world.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is currently worth £12.5m on the popular game, making him the joint-most valuable player alongside Liverpool's Mohamed Salah.

A lesson for every football fan; never, ever doubt Ronaldo.

Those who opted to remove Ronaldo from their teams will be feeling even worse after the Portuguese netted his second goal of the game after the half-time interval to make it 2-1 on the day.

The legendary forward latched onto a through ball by Luke Shaw and then proceeded to nutmeg Woodman with a powerful low shot.

That means Ronaldo is currently on 10 points for the GW and he'll also receive three bonus points to take that total up to 13.

United eventually beat Newcastle 4-1 thanks to late goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard, with Paul Pogba recording the assist for both strikes.

It certainly was a very good day for FPL managers who own more than one of the Red Devils' big hitters.

United's next Premier League match sees them take on West Ham United at the London Stadium and David Moyes' side will be without Michail Antonio for that game after he picked up a red card versus Southampton on Saturday.

His absence will likely result in Ronaldo's FPL ownership increasing even more rapidly over the next few days or so...
