On Saturday in New York City, Great Britain's Emma Raducanu made sporting history.The 18-year-old tennis prodigy became the first qualifier, male or female, ever to win a major.Raducanu defeated Canada's Leylah Fernandez in the US Open final, the British hero securing victory in straight sets.It was a truly magnificent performance by the teenage sensation inside the iconic Arthur Ashe Stadium.Raducanu's speed, power and intelligence were simply too much for Fernandez and her convincing victory meant that the Brit won the tournament without dropping a single set.What makes that achievement all the more incredible is the fact that she only made her professional debut back in June.All in all, Raducanu's victory at the 2021 US Open is one of the greatest sporting stories ever told.
After winning the final courtesy of an ace, Raducanu collapsed to the turf in joy and the emotions poured out of her.She quickly regained her composure, though, and a short while later, tennis' latest hero was joining the crowd in singing a rendition of Neil Diamond's famous anthem 'Sweet Caroline'.It was great hearing the song throughout England's Euro 2020 campaign and in New York on Saturday, it sounded just as good.Raducanu was absolutely loving it!

It was great to see a British contingent cheering on Raducanu in New York and another person from the nation that was in attendance at the US Open final was tennis legend, Tim Henman.
The former Wimbledon semi-finalist was working for Amazon Prime and after the thrilling final, he was full of praise for the victor.
"She [Raducanu] will win more of these [Grand Slams], she is that good," he said.
"This is not some flash in the pan or fairytale. She is playing 'top-five tennis'.
"Her world will be turned upside down but she has good people around her and it will be a hell of a ride if she can stay injury free."
