Manchester United have had a barnstorming start to the Premier League season and look like genuine title contenders.

With man-on-a-mission Cristiano Ronaldo now on the books and the likes of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandez playing some fantastic football, United are once again a real threat.

They put Newcastle to the sword this weekend, smashing in four goals in front of a raucous Old Trafford crowd.

Ronaldo kicked the scoring off late in the first half before doubling his tally in the second half. Fernandez then lashed a thunderbolt in from distance before Jesse Lingaard got in on the action, finishing off a superb team move.

To a man, United were absolutely superb, with their defence also showing very encouraging signs.

Luke Shaw in particular continues to grow in leaps and bounds as he continues his ascent to the top of the full-back world.

Shaw was a constant threat, bombing up and down the left flank, adding extra teeth to the United attacking game.

However, there was one Shaw moment that fans absolutely loved as he sent Miguel Almiron flying in a strong tussle for the ball.

Almiron never stood a chance but Shaw, he was in full flight, looked entirely unphased by the altercation.

See ya, mate.

Shaw just continued on his merry way after sending a whole grown man sprawling to the canvas.

The English star has come so far since his horror leg break and is a far stronger and more assured player than he has ever been.

The United machine will now shift focus to European duties as they prepare to face Young Boys of Switzerland before heading down to London for a clash with West Ham.

If Ronaldo and co. pick up from where they left off against Newcastle, they could do some serious damage over the coming weeks.

The biggest goal of the season will be to close the gap to the likes of Manchester City - something that looks a very real possibility at the moment.
