Oguzhan Ozyakup is hoping for more first-team opportunities after making his Arsenal debut against Shrewsbury Town.
The Dutch midfielder was one of several youngsters who made their first appearance in last month's Carling Cup encounter, as the Gunners fought back from a goal down to triumph 3-1.
Ozyakup played his part in the comeback - setting up Yossi Benayoun to net the third for Arsenal, just moments after coming on.
And, says Ozyakup, it was a proud moment for him to make a senior Gunners bow - and he hopes there are more to come.
“I worked for this for three years, I came here in 2008 and left everything back home,” he told the official Arsenal website.
“That is what I worked for and I was really pleased that I could make my debut because my parents were in the stadium as well so I was very happy.”
He added: “You never know, you never know.
“They always say you have to be ready when you get that chance so if I get it I will be ready.
“We will see. In training you have to show the boss that you can do it and hopefully I will get a chance.”
