Aside from his goal, it was a promising debut for the youngster.

He possesses a calmness beyond his years and that was on full display during his time on the pitch.

His goal helped Real to a 5-2 victory on the evening in their return to the Bernabeu.

Karim Benzema netted a hat-trick, while Vinicius Jr also got on the scoresheet.

Carlo Ancelotti was happy with his side going forward but conceded they have to improve defensively.

"We showed our quality in attack," said Ancelotti, per Marca. "The team showed a lot of attacking quality with Benzema, Modric, [Eden] Hazard, Vinicius, Miguel Gutierrez..

"But we absolutely must improve on the defensive side of things.

"We were missing [David] Alaba and [Ferland] Mendy, but we need to help ourselves more in defence."
