Mohamed Salah became the 30th member of the Premier League 100 club after his strike against Leeds on Sunday.

In doing so, the Egyptian is the fifth fastest player to hit the century of strikes taking just 162 matches.

Incredible numbers from an incredible player.

We’ve already ranked the 30 members of the 100 club by how many matches it’s taken them to reach 100 goals. You can’t argue with those numbers.

However, it’s time to get people arguing.

That’s because we’ve decided to rank the 30 players into tiers based solely on our own opinion from 'God tier' to 'making up the numbers'.

Now, before we reveal our rankings, we must make it clear that all 30 players are probably ‘world-class’ in their own right. You have to be to reach 100 Premier League goals.

However, for the purpose of this Tiermaker, we have to be harsh.

So, without further ado, check out our ranking of the 30 Premier League 100 club members:

Making up the numbers

Darren Bent
Peter Crouch
Dion Dublin

When you think of legendary Premier League strikers, you don’t think of Bent, Crouch or Dublin.

Bent perhaps has the biggest argument to be placed in a higher tier having completed his 100 goals in an impressive 226 games. He only scored 106 Premier League goals in his career, though.

Crouch was never really prolific, hitting double figures in terms of goals in a Premier League season on three occasions.

Dublin scored most of his goals for Coventry after a failed spell at Manchester United.

Peter Crouch

Decent on their day

Dwight Yorke
Romelu Lukaku
Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink
Emile Heskey
Nicolas Anelka
Les Ferdinand
Jermain Defoe
Robbie Keane
Teddy Sheringham

Some proper goalscorers in this list but slightly below the standard of some of the very best.

The reason these players fall below the ‘quality’ tier is due to how long this group of players were at the very top of their game. We feel they may have had a few really good seasons but weren’t dominating the Premier League for the best part of a decade like some.

In terms of the quickest to 100, Ferdinand did it in 178 matches which is far better than many.

Yorke bagged plenty of goals for Aston Villa and Man Utd while Lukaku will be looking to increase his numbers now he’s at Chelsea.

Talking of Chelsea, Hasselbaink had a number of prolific seasons at Stamford Bridge as well as Leeds.

Heskey is underrated when it comes to thinking about Premier League strikers and, while he wasn’t ever troubling the Golden Boot winners, he was consistent.

Anelka did trouble the Golden Boot winners in 2008/09 while at Chelsea, where he enjoyed his best success.

Defoe played 20 seasons in the Premier League so only actually needed to score five goals every campaign to reach the 100 club, He did far more than that with West Ham, Tottenham, Portsmouth, Sunderland and Bournemouth.

Defoe’s former strike partner, Keane, was far more than a goalscorer but he brought up three digits mainly for Spurs.

Another former Spurs striker, Sheringham, also makes this tier.

Jermain Defoe

Quality

Matt Le Tissier
Andy Cole
Ryan Giggs
Frank Lampard
Paul Scholes
Michael Owen
Robin van Persie
Ian Wright
Jamie Vardy

Now we’re talking.

As we mentioned, every member of the 100-club was probably ‘World-class’ at some point. And these nine players certainly were. However, for the purpose of the ranking system, they all fall into the ‘quality’ tier.

Wright is actually the sixth-fastest striker to hit 100 goals. The reason he’s only in ‘quality’ is that he’s only 21st when it comes to strikers with the most goals.

Le Tissier was a quality player who wasn’t just about the goals. He ‘only’ managed 100 in 270 matches for Southampton.

Cole is probably underrated when it comes to Premier League strikers, currently the third highest goalscorer in the league’s history. However, Cole was very much a goalscorer and we feel many of the other players in the 100-club offered something a bit more.

There’s no doubting Giggs was a quality player but he only reached the 100 club due to his longevity.

Lampard produced some incredible numbers for a midfielder and is actually the fifth highest goalscorer in Premier League history at things stand.

Scholes was perhaps a better all-round player than Lampard but certainly not quite as prolific. He did manage 107 goals in the league though.

If it wasn’t for injuries, Owen would be in the ‘world-class’ tier at the very list. He’s the 10th highest goalscorer in the league’s history and completed his 100 goals in 185 matches.

Van Persie’s legacy may well increase in the future because the Dutchman is actually the 13th highest goalscorer in the Premier League and completed his 100 in a decent 197 games.

Vardy took slightly longer, hitting his century in 206 games but the fact he led Leicester to the most remarkable Premier League title in history will always be remembered.

Ian Wright

World-class

Wayne Rooney
Steven Gerrard
Harry Kane
Sergio Aguero
Didier Drogba

Mohamed Salah

The world-class of the world-class.

Rooney is the second highest goalscorer in the Premier League with 208 strikes. It did take him 247 games to reach 100, though.

Gerrard, a midfielder, is never going to match the others in terms of goals scored or the goal-ratio, but there’s no doubting the Liverpool legend was world-class and one of the best players the league has seen.

Kane could be sitting top of this list come the end of his career as he hunts down Alan Shearer’s goalscoring record. He’s also the second fastest to score 100 (141 games).

Aguero is actually the third quickest to 100 goals and currently sits fourth in the all-time top goalscoring charts.

Drogba didn’t spend long enough in the Premier League to really challenge some of the top strikers in terms of numbers but he was sensational. The Chelsea hero reached 104 strikes and took 220 matches to reach the century.

The latest member of the 100 club deserves his place in the world-class category. Doing it in 162 matches - the fifth ever fastest - is hugely impressive.

Mohamed Salah

God tier

Alan Shearer
Thierry Henry

Shearer is the greatest goalscorer the Premier League has ever seen while Henry is the greatest player the Premier League has ever seen. Do we need to say any more?

Alan Shearer

Final rankings

So, all 30 of the Premier League 100 club ranked into tiers.

We’re sure that our ranking is going to upset a lot of people. In truth, reaching 100 Premier League goals is such an incredible achievement that they should all be placed in the ‘God tier’.

However, that would make for a pretty boring ranking system, wouldn’t it?

Therefore, we’ve decided to reserve that tier for the best goalscorer in the league’s history and the best player. Can you really argue with that?
