Pembroke Cricket Club made history at the weekend with a win over Bready to be crowned inaugural winners of the All-Ireland T20 Cup.The visitors won by nine wickets, scoring 51-1 from their 6.3 overs after heavy rainfall affected the final. But despite Pembroke's historic achievement, their spotlight was stolen by a furry fielder who made his way onto the pitch mid-game.Towards the end of the match, the best kind of pitch invasion halted play after a dog escaped his owner in the crowd. The players and commentators couldn't help but laugh as the dog, reportedly known as Dazzle, bolted for the loose ball and darted round the field. The clip of Dazzle being desperately chased down by his owner has gone viral on social media, reaching more than 4.3 million views and 8,500 likes on Twitter alone.

Cricket fans and dog lovers around the world are absolutely loving the fact Dazzle completely stole the show during such a historic event. In fact, the moment has gone down so well that the International Cricket Council went one step further to honour Dazzle's new found fame.

The official ICC Twitter account named the daring dog as their additional Player of the Month for August, alongside Ireland's Eimear Richardson and England captain Joe Root.

Even Cricket Ireland paid homage to Dazzle in their official match report on the Cup final.

Saturday was a day of euphoria for both Pembroke and Dazzle. The women marked a moment in history and the dog enjoyed belly scratches from strangers – a perfect day for all.
