It's safe to say that Arkane Studios have produced one of the most intriguing storylines of the year as far as new releases are concerned - with a tale that is shrouded with questions that need answering right from the off.
Players take control of Colt, one of two assassins in Deathloop and find himself in a world where the same day repeats over and over again, needing to eliminate eight targets, known as visionaries. Not even death will help him escape - hence the name.
On the other hand, gamers can also control Julianna who is out to stop Colt at all costs. But the question is, why is she doing that and what is her motive to keep him inside the time loop?
Interesting, right? Well, this turned out to be only half of the story and impressed one particular website so much that they scored it as high as games such as God of War, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
The reviewers concerned were IGN, who were so pleased with Deathloop as a whole, that they gave the game 10/10, describing it as a "masterpiece."
Arkane were lauded their "tremendously satisfying adventure" that they were taken on and simply adored how different it is to any other game that they have played.
Since 2008, they had only given top marks to just 24 games during that timeframe before adding Deathloop to that elusive list
The game's variety, visuals and environment helped it to the top of the class and said that it is a "game like no other." If you had been aware of Deathloop when it was first announced during E3 2019 - you would agree with this.
Deathloop is launched on 14th September 2021 for PS5 and PC.
