Fernandes is then captured going crazy, before Paul Pogba copies his teammates' celebration.

Fernandes then made sure to turn towards his own goal and thank De Gea.

The Spaniard responded with a thumbs up.

So, why did Fernandes feel the need to thank De Gea?

The goal simply wouldn't have been possible without the goalkeeper.

De Gea started the whole move with a quite glorious goal-kick which picked out Mason Greenwood.

Around 15 seconds later, Fernandes' strike found the back of the net.

It's no wonder Fernandes was applauding De Gea. That was a stunning pass to set up the counter-attack.

Fernandes expressed his happiness with United's performance in his post-match interview.
