Aston Martin team owner Lawrence Stroll has said that he is delighted with Sebastian Vettel and expects an announcement that the German will be remaining with the team for next season 'imminently.'

The four-time Formula 1 world champion has had both highs and lows during his first campaign for his new team, with particular highlights coming in both Azerbaijan and Budapest as he achieved second-placed finishes - though the latter of those was stripped from him post-race.

He's also shown plenty of race-craft this season, too, with him leading the stat for most overtakes this year, and it's clear he's enjoying his time with the team considerably more than he was towards the end of his spell at Ferrari.

That in mind, Stroll has said that he expects an announcement on the German's future soon that will see him remaining at the team for next season:

"We are delighted with Sebastian. It is our firm intention to continue with him next year and beyond," he said via the BBC, before saying he expects confirmation 'imminently.'

Undoubtedly, Vettel looks more motivated with Aston than he did at the end of his time at Ferrari and, if the team can ace their car for the 2022 regulations, perhaps he can be challenging back at the front end regularly from next season.
