According to reports, Big E was actually supposed to win the WWE Championship last month, before plans changed. Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast - who was the first to report that NXT was moving to Tuesdays - has revealed that Big E was set to win the title on the August 30 episode of Raw.This was the date that the company originally planned to have the WWE Draft conclude, before opting to move the draft back to October.Things didn't pan out too differently for Big E, as WWE just opted to move his WWE Championship win back a few weeks to last night's episode of Monday Night Raw.

For those that didn't catch last night's episode of Raw, Big E successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to take the WWE Championship away from Bobby Lashley.

Lashley had just successfully defended his title against Randy Orton, but the All-Mighty was caught off guard by a cash-in from the SmackDown star.

In winning the WWE Championship, Big E became a World Champion for the first time in his career, celebrating with his New Day stablemates to end the broadcast.

Also on last night's show, WWE announced that the Draft is going to be taking place next month, confirming that the event will kick off on the October 1 episode of SmackDown.

It was also revealed that, as has been the case for the last few years, the WWE Draft will continue onto the October 4 episode of Monday Night Raw.

Reports suggest that this is going to be a busy few weeks for WWE, with the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments reportedly starting on the October 8 episode of SmackDown.
