Exeter want to keep Leicester midfielder Matt Oakley at St James Park well into the new year.

Oakley arrived in Devon on a rolling one-month loan deal last week, and put in a solid performance on his debut in the 2-0 win against Oldham.

The current agreement with parent club Leicester is set to expire in December, but Grecians boss Paul Tisdale is keen to extend it into 2012.

"I would be very keen to take him into the other half of the season but there are three parties that have to be satisfied and that is the player, his parent club - Leicester - and us," Tisdale told the Express and Echo.

"All three of those parties have to be keen and I can tell you we are but it is early days still."
