McCormack in line for monthly gong

Leeds striker Ross McCormack has been nominated for September's npower Championship player of the month award.

McCormack, 25, scored five times in three league matches for the Whites during September and is currently joint-top scorer in the Championship, alongside Southampton's Rickie Lambert with nine goals .

The former Motherwell and Cardiff forward is one of four nominations for the award, with Lambert, Middlesbrough's Matthew Bates and fellow centre-back Jason Shackell, of Derby, also in contention.
