Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka is being linked with a move to Russia.

The former French international forward has less than 12 months remaining on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, opening the door to a possible pre-contract agreement and subsequent free transfer next summer.

American teams are known to be interested in bringing the Chelsea player to the MLS, but Terek Grozny have now joined the race for the 32-year-old.

Sources close to the side claim Anelka is not against a potential move to the country, and Anelka would be following in the footsteps of Samuel Eto'o after his big-money move to Russia in the summer.

Terek are known to have big ambitions, and previously hired former Chelsea boss Ruud Gullit before wielding the axe on the Dutchman after just six-months in charge.

TalkSPORT claims the club were also chasing Uruguayan international Diego Forlan before his move to Inter Milan, but will now make 'every effort' to lure Anelka away from Chelsea.

PSG are also keen, should the player wish to return to his homeland, and options is something the Chelsea striker is not sure of as he battles for more minutes on the pitch in west London.
