It was confirmed on this week's episode of AEW Dynamite that CM Punk will be wrestling in his second-ever match for the company on the Friday, September 24th episode of AEW Rampage.

The former WWE Superstar will be facing Powerhouse Hobbs, a member of Team Taz. Hobbs and Taz's son Hook attacked Punk on Dynamite to set up the match in New York City.

It was also confirmed that AEW Rampage from New York will be a special 2-hour episode of the show.

This will be CM Punk's first match on television in 7 years, with the straight edge star last having a contest on USA Network back on 20th January 2014.

Ironically, Punk faced Billy Gunn in that contest on WWE Monday Night RAW, and now both men work for All Elite Wrestling nearly a decade later.

Punk will be discussing the contest next week on Wednesday as part of AEW Dynamite, hyping his first match in 7 years on US television against the Team Taz member.

The former WWE Champion was on hand for commentary on this week's episode of the TNT Network show, hanging out in the booth for the full two-hour show.
