Age of Empires 4 is just a matter of weeks away from release and gamers are keen to get stuck into the action early.
The series should need no introduction to those that thrive from nostalgia. But if you are not aware, the real-life strategy war game is one of the most popular titles of its kind.
At the time of writing, Age of Empires 2 still stands as one of the highest-rated games ever critiqued on Metacritic with a fantastic score of 92 and a user score of 9.0 from over 1200 ratings.
Relic are looking to bring those levels of joy and entertainment back in the 21st century with that game having been released back in 1999. With an all-new engine and refined visuals, Age of Empires 4 is aiming to conquer games of old in the franchise.
After the closed beta that took place previously, gamers will be eager to know when they will get the chance to jump into the action before the launch in October.
Age of Empires 4 Open Beta
The great news is that, yes, another beta will take place and this time it will be open to everyone.
Age of Empires 4 will be running an Open Beta which is due to get underway on Friday 17th September 2021 at 6 pm BST and will last until Monday 20th September at 6 pm BST, allowing the developers to push their servers to the limit in what they are calling their Technical Stress test.
Like any other beta, gamers shouldn’t make a judgement on Age of Empires 4 like it is the final game and that it will be the same come 28th October when it is launched. It is purely an exercise by Relic to ensure that their servers can cope with the expected demand as the winter months edge closer.
It will be interesting to see what the feedback is from this test and whether any alterations will be made before Age of Empires 4 is released.
