Barcelona: Footage of Ter Stegen's reaction to Pique being humiliated by Lewandowski

Gerard Pique won't want to see Robert Lewandowski on a football pitch for a while...

Barcelona must be sick of the sight of Bayern Munich these days.

Back at the end of the 2019/20 season, the Blaugrana were famously humiliated by the German outfit in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Bayern ran riot in Portugal that evening and won by an 8-2 scoreline, with Philippe Coutinho - a player who was on loan from Barcelona at the time - scoring two of the goals.

It's without question one of the lowest points in the Spanish side's history and their encounter with the Bundesliga champions on Tuesday evening wasn't far off matching it.

Barcelona may have only been defeated 3-0 this time around, but the team's overall performance at Camp Nou was absolutely abysmal.

Ronald Koeman's side didn't register a single shot on target and Bayern could have scored five or six goals on the night.

In the end, they had to settle for three, with star striker Robert Lewandowski netting two of them in the second half.

His goal to make it 3-0 was a work of art as well, the Polish goal machine leaving Gerard Pique in a crumpled heap on the turf inside the box before stroking the ball past Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

It was certainly not Pique's finest moment in a Barcelona jersey and new footage of the goal shows that Ter Stegen was livid with his colleague's attempt at stopping Lewandowski.

The German goalkeeper said: "Don't throw yourself to the ground always! Stay standing up!"

To be fair to the shot-stopper, he has a point...

Pique does have a tendency to throw himself to the ground in order to try and thwart an opposing attacker and this time around, it effectively cost Barcelona a goal.

The miniature spat between two of the most senior figures in the squad further highlights the sorry state of affairs at the Catalan club right now.
